Passports should be valid for 6 months from travel date. All nationals except those of Commonwealth countries, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden, require visas. The nationals mentioned above are given a permit for stay at the border or airport. This is usually valid for 30 days and can be extended free of charge at the Immigration Office in Banjul. Nationals from neighbouring countries do not usually require visas. If you are travelling on last minute bookings and have been unable to acquire a visa, you will be given a 24-hour visa stamp at the airport and then need to obtain a visa from the Immigration Office in Banjul.
